About Bhuvaneshwari Jayanti:

The fourth of the ten Mahavidyas, Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is a nurturer. She is also known as Om Shakti or Adi Shakti. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is the manifestation of Lord Shiva. She is the most radiant and gentle of all the goddesses. She is a supreme goddess who holds the moon on her forehead, creates everything and destroys evils. Devotees who worship Goddess Bhuvaneshwari are blessed with strength, wisdom, and wealth. Bhuvaneshwari means the Goddess of the Universe. Bhuvaneshwari Jayanti falls on the Dwadashi of the Shukla Paksha of the Bhadrapada month.

Legend:

Goddess Bhuvaneshwari controls the consciousness of the entire world. She has an important place in the Gayatri Mantra. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari has four hands and three eyes. Two of her hands are in Varada Mudra and Abhay Mudra while the other two hold the Noose and Ankush. Her complexion is dark. According to the religious scriptures and Vedas, Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is also known as Aditi which means the indivisible or the infinite mother. According to the legends, Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is mostly associated with Lord Shiva and is believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Parvati.

Celebrations and Rituals:

An idol of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari should be kept on the red cloth. The worship of Bhuvaneshwari begins with a ritual bath in the early morning followed by Guru Vandana, guru puja and Abhishek of Mata Bhuvaneshwari. Flowers are offered, and then the Shringar and Alankaram is performed. Devotees offer sandalwood, fruits, red flowers and rudraksha beads. Devotees chant mantra from the scriptures of Treyolokya Mangal Kawacham, the Shri Bhuvaneshwari Panjar Stotra, and the Treyolokya Mangal Kawacham while worshipping Bhuvaneshwari Devi. Homa, tarpans, and Havan are also performed. Food is offered to young girls.

Devotees who worship Goddess Bhuvaneshwari with dedication and devotion gets all the wishes fulfilled. The devotee is provided with protection against the evils. Worshipping Goddess helps to get freedom from the fear of the cycle of birth and death and attain salvation. She is the mother and the nurturer. The Beej mantra is the creator of the universe. She is popularly known as Rajeshwari Paramba. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is gentle and sympathetic towards her devotees. She protects her devotees and helps them to gain wisdom.
