Significance of Shukra Dosh Nivaran Puja

Overview:Shukra is the offspring of the great sage Bhrigu and an expert in science and spirituality. However, it is a planet in an adversary of Brihaspati, the planet of good fortune. Shukra is associated with love, sensuality, luxury, abundance and beauty. It is also related to Tantra, mysticism, the occult and many inauspicious practices. Unfavourable Shukra has many adverse effects, especially when it is in the house of Rahu, Sun and Moon. In order to get rid of Shukra Dosh and its ill effects, it is important to offer Shukra Dosh Nivaran Puja. This puja can also be performed at home.

Shukracharya is considered as the mentor of demons. Astrologically, if in alignment, the planet Venus is responsible for providing all luxuries in the life. The Sun and Moon are considered unfriendly to Venus, Mercury and Saturn are friendly and neutral to others. Venus represents romance, sexuality, artistic talents, material life, wealth, pleasure, feminine qualities, arts such as music, dance, and painting. Shukra Dosh Nivaran Puja Ritual:Jaap Mala, idols of Shiva, Durga and Ganesh, Navgrah yantra, betel nut, Chunri, red thread or Mouli, rice, coconut are some of the main requirements. Other items necessary for the successful completion of this puja are incense, flowers, fruits, sweets, ghee, Bhasma and items to be donated to the Brahmin priests.

The Shukra puja is performed to improvise prosperity, luxury, wealth, sensual pleasures and beauty. This puja is dedicated to planet Venus and is conducted on Fridays. On the day of puja, one has to take an early bath and perform Ganesh and Shukra pooja while offering white flowers. Also, the Shukra Vrat Katha is read during the event. The fasting for Shukra puja is performed from sunrise to sunset. During the fast, one can only cook and take white Color food like Kheer. The food is taken after sunset and spices are fully avoided in that.
