About the Temple
Bhavishya Badri or Bhabisya Badri is located in Subhain village at a distance of 17 km from Joshimath. It is located on an ancient pilgrim track to Mount Kailash and Manasarovar, along the Dhauli Ganges River. Bhavishya Badri is one of the Panch Badri pilgrimage worshipped by Hindu pilgrimages as the future Badri as it suggests by its name. It is considered as the next adobe of Lord Vishnu when the current Badrinath temple will be permanently closed. The black idol of Lord Vishnu can be seen in a meditative posture. The idol is adorned with flower garlands and peacock feathers.

According to the legend of Bhavishya Badri, at the end of the Kal yug, the Nara and Narayana mountains would block the route to Badrinath temple and the sacred shrine would become inaccessible. The world will be destroyed and a new world will be established. Then, Lord Badrinath will appear at the Bhavishya Badri temple and he will be worshipped at Bhavishya Badri. The Narasingh Badri shrine at Joshimath is closely linked with the legend of Bhavishya Badri. Currently, the Bhavishya Badri has an idol of Lord Narasimha, the lion-faced incarnation and one of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu.

A prophecy says, at the end of Kali Yuga, Nara and Narayan hills will be collapsed blocking the path to Badrinath shrine. These hills will collapse when the right arm of the idol of Lord Narsingh currently situated in Joshimath will detach from its body. The arm of the Lord Narsingh idol is shrinking day by day. This landslide will occur at the end of Kali Yuga and in Satya Yuga, Badrinath will move his abode to Bhavishya Badri.
The Narsingh temple in Joshimath is the place where Badrinath idol is worshipped during the winter. It is also called Narsingh Badri and is included in Sapt Badri. During the winter season, priests at main Badrinath temple come down to Joshimath bringing the idol of Badrinath along with them and worship the god in Narsingh Badri temple. Narsingh Badri temple has a Badrinath idol along with the Narsingh idol.

By Air: The nearest airport is Jolly Grant which is located at Dehradun.
By Rail: Rishikesh is the nearest railhead. Taxi or jeeps are available to Joshimath from Rishikesh railway station.
By Road: Joshimath is well connected to most parts of Uttarakhand state through road.
