The Bhadrakali temple is located on the banks of Bhadrakali Lake between Hanamkonda and Warangal. This beautiful temple is surrounded by the hills depicting the enchanting charm of the state Telangana.

History:The Bhadrakali temple was made by the King Pulakesi-II of the Chalakya dynasty. It is almost 250 years old temple. The temple is known for its incredible stone shrine of the Goddess Bhadrakali which is in square shape. The Bhadrakali devi is one of the avatars of Goddess Parvati. Afterwards, the Katikya dynasty leaders implemented the Goddess as their Kulmata and worshipped her over many years as their Kuldevi.
Temple Attractions:The temple has many other small temples inside and outside the main temple. There is a fort around 10 kms away from the main temple named Warangal fort. It depicts the history in a grand fashion and is also famous for a Swayambhu temple of Lord Shiva. It is believed that his Swaymabhu temple originated by itself and is not established by anyone. The Bhadrakali temple has a temple of Lord Hanuman and Lord Subramanyam Swamy inside its courtyard. The temple recently got a new temple of Lord Vigneshwara outside the main temple. Around the Bhadrakali temple there are 8 major temples and 12 minor temples. They include the temples of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba, Shri Narsimha Swami and many others. The temple also has a Dhwaja Stambh and a Balieepetham.

Temple Celebrations:
The best time to visit the temple is the Shravan month of the Hindu calendar. The temple celebrates Vasant Navratri, Sharannavratri and Shakambri Utsavam as their major festivals. The temple also celebrates an interesting festival named Bathukamma during Durga Ashtami. The girls and women in colorful dresses visit the temple with flowers and pooja thali to worship the Goddess. It is believed that the pooja performed by these women and girls brings good luck to their family. After offering their prayers to the Goddess, the women put the pooja thali along with a diya in the lake, making it a colorful and enchanting scene with lighted diyas all over the temple. The lake is filled with the bright diyas and the colorful pleasant smelling flowers.
The Bhadrakali Lake is an artificial lake. It was dry once but now the lake never dries. When it went dry, the government filled this lake with the help of nearby dam. Now this lake serves as a source of drinking water to many nearby villages.

By Air: Devotee can hire Taxis from Warangal and Hyderabad Airports.
By Rail: Warangal and Hyderabad Railway stations are well connected with all parts of India and Warangal station is just 3.5 Km from Temple.
By Road: Regular buses and taxis are available from Warangal and Hyderabad cities.
Timing:
The temple is open for devotees from 5.30 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 8 pm. Daily Aarti’s in the morning, evening and night takes place.

This form of Goddess Bhadrakali is considered as one of the fiercest avatars of Goddess Parvati. But the idol of Goddess Bhadrakali is believed to changing into odd forms through continuous chanting of mantras, named Tripura Sundari. The Tripuri Sundari form is considered one of the most heavenly forms of Mother Nature and the crucial feminine power form of the universe. It predicates the “best of three worlds”.
