About Damodara Dwadashi:
Damodar Dwadashi Vrata is observed diligently by the devotees to seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu. Damodara Dwadashi is observed on the Dwadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravan month. Damodara is amongst the numerous names of Lord Vishnu. Shravan Month is marked by the appearance of the Shravan constellation of stars in the sky. The month is devoted largely to the worship of Lord Shiva. Worshiping Lord Shiva during this auspicious month can bring several great benefits to the devotees, who are blessed by the grace of Lord Shiva. Shravan month is also associated with the monsoon season which is crucial to the harvesting of crops and the prevention of droughts. Hence, Shravan Month is considered to be especially significant for gaining the blessings of the Gods. The previous day of the Damodara Dwadashi is observed as the Pavitra Ekadashi Vrat or the Putrada Ekadashi which is also dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Devotees observing Putrada Ekadashi or the Pavitra Ekadashi would often break their fast on this Dwadashi day after worshipping Lord Vishnu, offering Naivedyam to him and then having it as Prasad.

Damodara Dwadashi is a special day dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It falls on the twelfth day of the Shukla phase of Shravan Month. Offer incense, flowers, sweets, water, lamps and a fan to Lord Vishnu. Perform a Panchamrit Abhishek of Lord Vishnu. Visit Vishnu temples. Recite or listen to Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram and Bhagavatam. Donate clothes and grains to Brahmins as alms and charity.
